We could not be more proud of the student designers who presented their projects at the DT Philly Challenge (6th-8th Grade) at Citizens Bank Park on Friday! All of the teams demonstrated great empathy in their design work, represented their schools and their projects well, and were supportive of one another's efforts. Congratulations one and all! (For a list of projects presented, click here.) The judging was close and, in the end, the following teams walked away with trophies and DT Philly grants:
1st place ($1,500) - Southwark School's Designer Dragons (cafeteria design project)
2nd place ($1,250) - Longstreth School's Problem Solvers (teacher rating system project)
3rd place ($1,000) - Grover Washington, Jr. Middle School's Advanced 5 (classroom design project)
Designers' Choice award* ($500) - Tilden Middle School's Tigers (fire alarm project)
A big thank you to all of the teachers who led design teams this year, to our judges--Jon Coddington, Fletcher MacNeill, and Beth Miller, to the principals who attended the event, and to the Phillies and Aramark for hosting us!
*Awarded by the students themselves to a deserving team.
