Students and teachers in kindergarten, first, and second grade spent the last two months of the school year gearing up instead of winding down by helping us pilot our first-ever K-2 DT Philly program. Teams applied their problem-solving skills to challenges such as how to make erasing and eraser sharing fun and easy, how to ensure privacy in school bathrooms, and how to keep school announcements from being so loud they hurt students' ears. This presentation shares the students' work, which was reviewed last week by a panel of design and business professionals. Reflecting on his experience, one of our student designers said: "I wish we would always do DT Philly. What if DT Philly kept getting harder and harder? That would be great!" We promise to keep that request in mind as we review and revamp the curriculum this summer! Congratulations to all of our teachers and students!
