K-5 Teams Inspire with Empathy

Thursday, May 10, 2018

You’re never too young to become an explorer and solver of problems…something our K-5 design teams prove every year.  So what challenges did they take on this year?  Bullying was the top concern of several teams, who took different approaches to finding a solution, from seeking stronger deterrents to getting parents involved, and from teaching students to speak up when they see bullying to helping students find common ground.  Student safety and respecting school and students’ property also came up with multiple teams, and some unique topics included finding a way to keep the floor around the water fountain dry, promoting cultural awareness among students at a diverse school, and using positive interactions to make students happier during the school day.  To learn more about what the kindergarten to fifth grade teams did, please click here.
