A slide from the Kensington Business High School design team's DT Philly presentation

The school facilitiles report released this week by City Controller Alan Butkovitz called public attention to a serious problem that was also the subject of our Kensington Business High School design teams' work this year: the substandard--and in some cases unsafe--physical conditions present in all too many city schools.  The Kensington Business students focused on bathrooms and water fountains for their DT Philly projects.  Their observation that current conditions are dehumanizing echoes Butkovitz's remark that the conditions his office found are "not something that happens in a first-world public facility."  Read more about the report's findings here.
